LIBRARY

A robust school library supports a positive whole community of students and teachers by providing access to a current and diverse print and digital collection.

The lower school library curriculum and standards are grounded in inquiry, innovative leadership, and the growth of strong literacy skills to increase student achievement and the genesis of informed and active globally-minded citizens.

TECHNOLOGY

Future ready students are prepared to thrive in a continually evolving technological landscape with skills that transfer and transcend.

Students access classroom embedded technology and a robust computer science curriculum that encompasses skills that span mechanics, robotics, digital citizenship, and global impacts.

DESIGN THINKING AND SOCIAL JUSTICE

Design Thinking is a creative and collaborative process that is rooted in empathy and leads to rapid prototyping, testing, and refining.

Students discover and define authentic local, community, and global problems and apply a variety of tools, technology, and skills to take risks, learn from feedback, and improve designs.

ABOUT MS. OCHOA

Teacher Librarian

My purpose is to facilitate access of information and the development of exceptional, future-ready skills so that my students have agency to create change in the world.

I concurrently earned two master’s degrees at the University of Denver; in Library and Information Science and Curriculum and Instruction. I am licensed to teach social studies at the secondary level and earned my B.A. in European History at Fort Lewis College in Durango, where I pursued global experiences to explore and expand my understanding of the world. I studied history in Greece, archaeology at a medieval monastery in France, and I  spent a year studying at a university in Japan.

I love creative writing and reading, especially science fiction, fantasy, and young adult fiction. I was born in Colorado and grew up in the mountains over 9200 ft. I enjoy many high altitude outdoor pursuits such as Jeeping, camping, and hiking with my dog.
